Students at Queen’s University Rally for their 2nd Annual MOVE4MANA Challenge to Save Lives With RUTF!
Queen’s University students are taking action to make a real difference in the fight against child malnutrition through their 2nd Annual MOVE4MANA Challenge. Running until March 24th, this initiative brings students together to be active while raising awareness for Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF), the life-saving peanut-based paste used to treat severe acute malnutrition in children worldwide.
What is MOVE4MANA?
MOVE4MANA is a cross Canada movement that encourages students to convert their physical activity into impactful Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF).
Through movement—whether it's walking, running, cycling, or engaging in other forms of exercise—participants help provide RUTF to children suffering from severe malnutrition. Each participant’s efforts translate into donations that supply therapeutic food to children in need, offering them a second chance at life.
The student earned RUTF packets are donated by their sole sponsor, Food For Famine Society. To date, they have saved the lives of over 180,000 children suffering from severe malnutrition in 16 different African countries!

Why RUTF Matters
Severe acute malnutrition is a leading cause of child mortality, yet it is entirely preventable. RUTF has proven to be a highly effective solution, helping children regain their health in just six weeks. By getting involved in MOVE4MANA, Queen’s University students are not only promoting their own well-being through physical activity but are also giving malnourished children the nutrition they desperately need to survive.
Students Earning RUTF By Hosting:
Campus Fun Runs & Walks – Students have organized group runs and walks around campus, making movement a social and impactful experience.
Fitness Challenges – From push-up contests to yoga sessions, students have found creative ways to keep moving for a cause.
Social Media Challenges – The campaign has encouraged students to share their activities online, tagging friends to join in and amplify awareness.
Educational Booths & Fundraising Stalls – By setting up information tables around campus, students have engaged their peers in conversations about global malnutrition and how MOVE4MANA provides a simple yet powerful solution.
